1 Cylinder Solenoid Engine
thingiverse
This is a 1-cylinder engine driven by an electromagnet solenoid. All parts are press-fitted together and must be scaled down by a factor of 10 to achieve the right size. Further information can be found in my YouTube video and the attached zip file, which includes older version parts and mistakes. The latest working parts have been uploaded on this thing site. Post-Printing Instructions: Assemble the parts together by pressing them into place using a vice or pliers when they are cold, as trying to do so when they are hot may cause deformation. Some filing may be necessary depending on the quality of your printer. Required Parts: To make this engine work, you will need some essential components: - Solenoid: A magnetic solenoid can be purchased from Pollin.de under part number POTTER BRUMFIELD S28 25 D 24 24 V. - Light gates: Sharp GP1S93 light gates are available at Pollin.de under part number Nzk4ODc4OTk-. - Switch: OMRON SS-5FL3051-3T is the required switch. - Bearings: The engine requires 688 ZZ 8x16x5 and MR126 6x12x3 bearings. Assembly of the Flywheel: To assemble the flywheel, you will need to press M6 nuts into place. You can either glue the parts together or hot-weld them if you are confident that they will move freely. Design Details: Additional information such as a Sketchup file, parts list, and drawings can be found in this zip file: http://www.file-upload.net/download-12266177/solenoidmotor.zip.html
