1/9 scale Mk82 Snakeye bomb for Freewing A4 Skyhawk
thingiverse
This is a 1/9 scale Mk82 Snakeye bomb designed for the Freewing A4 Skyhawk. The slot accommodates either weapons pylon, requiring square magnets to be glued into place along metal plates on the pylon. Front magnets are positioned consistently regardless of pylon choice, while rear magnets differ - further forward for outer pylons and inner pylons. To ensure adaptability, three magnets were glued in, allowing for use with either pylon. When employing the outer pylon, the slot's front aligns with the pylon's front, concealing the extra rear portion of the slot as the bomb is mounted. The entire bomb measures 256mm in height, necessitating creative printing due to a QIDI printer that only reaches 150mm. A move command was used to lower it by 128mm, generating Gcode for the top half. To create the bottom half, the bomb was rotated and lowered an additional 128mm to produce Gcode for the lower section. Epoxy sealed the two halves together securely. Decals should be printed on white water slide paper, matching Rustoleum Camouflage 2X Ultra Coverage olive drab for the background. A Dullcote spray coat covers the bomb after decals are applied.
