This is an enclosure form my wifi push clock for time and weather display. Parts: chip ESP8266 wifi module (with a custom firmware that's really great!) 1.8 TFT display Any PC or Raspberry PI as data source. Arduino pro mini 3.3v My home automation server collects data from a sensor network. Using a php-script it gets the actual data and sends to the clock. The ESP8266 wifi module acts as a server, receiving the data and sending it to Arduino via UART. Arduino is only used for retrieving the serial port data and printing it on the TFT display. Project description is available here in english. http://blog.simtronyx.de/en/simple-indoor-climate-monitoring-with-an-arduino-bmp085-dht11-and-a-rtc/ If you don't have your own sensors and a web server, this is an example of how to set it up: http://blog.simtronyx.de/en/simple-indoor-climate-monitoring-with-an-arduino-bmp085-dht11-and-a-rtc/ This project gave me the idea for using old 1.8 TFT displays. I found this project about a month ago, and I liked it. Note: my 1.8TFT screen does not work with that project, so I'm using UTFT library instead of UTF. Instructions Print it face down with support for small elements in the back of the box. I used it with TFT module like this: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Dealmine-Festival-1-8-SPI-TFT-LCD-Display-Module-Serial-PCB-Adapter-Power-IC-for-SD/ This isn't where I bought my screen, but the module looks similar. Solidworks sources are included.
