I printed the original part that came with the 1.75mm kit from Amazon, only to discover it was much larger than the brass connector included. Since the kit's connector wouldn't work, I designed a custom adapter in SolidWorks using the thread wizard and 1/4-28 threading. Unfortunately, this led to some self-threading issues, suggesting that the actual part sent might be an M6 (5.85mm as measured with calipers). If you don't have access to SolidWorks, I can modify it for your size or recommend using a smaller drill bit and letting the brass create its own threads. Later on, after experimenting with this spool system, I noticed it had a tendency to break more delicate filaments when not properly aligned. To address this, I added an internal fillet to guide the filament and prevent future breakage. Further modifications are in store as I continue testing the design.
