A 3D printable cork is designed for use on a used wine bottle filled with water, creating a self-watering system for indoor plants. Two sizes of corks are included, each featuring a small hole calibrated to release water over a period of 3 to 5 days. These corks can be easily printed without support on modern inexpensive 3D printers, using a variety of materials such as PLA, PETG, ABS and other types of printable materials. PLA works well for this application due to its ease of printing. The object should be durable and easy to maintain, lasting a long time. However, it's not recommended to store or keep the object in high temperatures exceeding ~55 C (~130 F). If left in such an environment, like a parked car in the summer, another heat-tolerant material like PETG or ABS is suggested to prevent warping. Black O-Rings shown in pictures must be procured separately.
