### I have released an OpenSCAD file on github that can generate any helix scaffold proceduraly, check it out: https://github.com/sgcderek/dsgc-helix-scaffold A simple, 3D-printable scaffold for a 1700 MHz helical antenna feed. Supports wire with up to 4.5mm diameter. Can (and should) be printed with no supports and a big layer height. Uses significantly less plastic and prints much faster than comparable 3D-printed helical feeds. Before winding, it is important to pre-form solid-core wire into a rough helix shape (see below). If you wind solid-core wire directly into the scaffold there's a good chance that one of the legs will break. ![](https://cdn.thingiverse.com/assets/0f/b4/64/1a/ca/featured_preview_winding.png) The holes on the mounting legs are 1cm in diameter, a washer can be used to mount it with smaller screws. The helix is LHCP, the polarization is inverted when used with a dish reflector thus once assembled it results in a RHCP antenna. *If you want a modified version, let me know and I'll be happy to make it!*
