cults3d
The M30 Light Instrument was used in all kinds of US military vehicles and equipment; it is basically a battery operated flashlight with a bulb at the end of a wire with a socket adapter that allows the bulb to be inserted in all kinds of equipment to light dials, gauges. For instance, in the M4A3 Sherman tank multiple M30s are used: one to light up the Commander's azmuth indicator, another to light up the gunner's sight at night. The battery compartment is held in place by a sheet metal bracket mounted to the side of the turret and on top of the cannon. The opening on the end of the cone is for you to insert a wire that leads to the item that is being lit.
