1.5L ND MX5 (Miata) Brake Cooling Duct
thingiverse
Similar concept to the 911 GT3 brake duct where it attaches to the lower control arm. So far, all I can say is that it does direct air onto the brake rotor and calliper area. I did some "Flowviz" testing where I had runny yellow paint on the inlet of the duct then went for a drive. First version was a fail as the inlet was too high and not in clean airflow. Finally arrived at this version where I could see that the Flowviz had made it to the outlet and surprisingly, some spots of paint was on the calliper bracket. I tried to get the outlet as close to the brakes as possible but had to account for the how close the calliper and upright gets at full steering lock. As it stands there is 1mm clearance. Final version printed out of PETG, 0.28mm layer height, 3 walls/top and bottom layers, support and raft. It is attached using Zip ties. Please note that this was designed for my 1.5L ND which has slightly different sized brakes to the 2.0L model. And be sure that you take all safety precautions when working under the car!
