In the past, a budget-friendly friction drive was created using a bicycle as a base. The bicycle chosen was a Giant TCR road bike, which features a wheel-rotating motor with traction drive. The affordable motor used was Aeolian C5065 KV270 (1785W) along with its controller, costing $60. Additionally, a Lipo 4500mAh 10S1P battery for $50 was required. The remaining components were DIY and the total cost was kept low. A video showcases the first engine's performance on the bike.
