Decided to install a solar heating loop for our pool in Texas, where there's an abundance of sunny days. Figuring out how to connect the 1.5-inch o-ring sealed Intex hose fittings to standard plumbing was a challenge, so I came up with this innovative adapter. When printed in ABS plastic, it easily attaches to 1/2-inch PVC pipe using acetone glue. I might revisit the design soon to add a variable restriction downstream of the small outlet, as this setup doesn't provide enough pressure to properly prime my 50-foot loop of 1/2-inch irrigation tubing (currently just hanging on the fence without any fancy enclosure). For now, blocking the main pool outlet with my hand gives the necessary boost, and water flows smoothly after that. I also created two additional fittings to adapt a 1-1/4 inch PVC ball valve or other fittings to the 1.5-inch OD Intex o-ring fittings.
