I assemble a Workbee CNC Router and install a powerful 1.5 kW water-cooled spindle. Dust extraction components on CNC machines are notoriously inconvenient, often obstructing access to the collet nut when you need to switch tools, and secondly, you can't see the toolbit - which is not ideal if you just want to verify everything is functioning properly. Since I also own a Creality CR-10S 3D printer, I thought let's create a sleek fitting that wraps around the toolbit for excellent local extraction. The fitting should also be designed so it can easily swing out of the way and be height-adjustable depending on the tool. My 3D printer is truly remarkable, as there's no way such a part could be produced in one piece using traditional methods. I use a robust 3.5mm wall thickness for this project because the tool demands to be strong. The pipe is a sturdy 50mm OD, leaving an interior space of approximately 43mm - a diameter that fits most standard vacuum cleaner pipes.
