I purchased some non-MakerBot brand filament for my MakerBot 2x and discovered it wouldn't fit in the original spool holder. To solve this problem, I designed a new one that perfectly accommodates a filament spool with a 1.5 inch diameter hole in the center. This custom holder fits seamlessly into my MakerBot 2x printer just like the ones supplied with it.
