1.5" 9* Interlocking Pie Cut
thingiverse
These are interlocking pie cut pieces for creating mockups of automotive manifolds. I have included files with and without standoffs for printing in resin. The standoffs take care of the elephant foot phenomenon. I doubt the text will show up well on an FDM print. While the 4.5 degree cuts do create an ellipse, I centered the circular locking tabs on the ellipse. This means that there is no binding while rotating the pie cuts. Also, with a simple table of pie cut size matched to rotation angle, you should be able to recreate your finished design in CAD with ease. Similarly, if you draw degree lines on your pipe before you cut the pie slices you could reconstruct the product from your table of values. Dimensions: 1.5" diameter tube 9 degree pie angle, 4.5 degree cuts Short side length vs Centerline Radius: 1/4" = 2.34" 1/2" = 3.93" 3/4" = 5.53" More to come: Adapter from pie cut to 1.5" tube Adapter from pie cut to exhaust flange
