1/4 inch to hot shoe adapter
thingiverse
A rapid adaptation of a 1/4 inch to hot shoe adapter with a printed thread was undertaken, utilizing a readily available design as a starting point. This particular model required only a 1/4 inch nut for assembly, which I fortunately had on hand. I have successfully employed this adapter to couple a small camera tripod (Fotopro FY-583) with a Rode Videomic Pro hot shoe, and it is likely compatible with all Rode videomic models. The design should print in PLA without any issues when oriented properly. The thread used for this adaptation was borrowed from wizprods adapter, as I lacked the Tinkercad skills to create it myself. The rest of the design was derived from basic measurements and proved effective in my initial prototype. While refinement is possible, the part functioned as intended and has been left unchanged. A mic extension cable tidy for Fotopro FY-583, a compact 1m tripod, is also visible in this photo. This affordable accessory pairs well with the Videomic and allows for quick setup and packing away. Adding a headphone extension cable completes the package. Use at your own risk.
