1/4 inch Boom mount

Create a simple and affordable adapter for a 4 meter long selfie stick using an old fishing rod. Remove two sections from a 6 meter telescopic fishing rod, like the one from biltema.se, model Metspo-45951, to get a sturdy handle. Cut a suitable length of 1/4 inch bolt using a dremmel and attach it to the fourth section with tape or Hot Glue, or epoxy, making sure its inner diameter is roughly 14 mm. This adapter will allow you to mount anything lightweight with a 1/4 inch thread. Use this versatile boom for taking shots from above with a GoPro camera, or as a microphone boom. If needed, use three sections instead of four for more stability, but modify the diameter accordingly, using tape if necessary. Consider using a fiberglass rod for its affordability, or upgrade to carbon fiber for extra stiffness and adjust the diameter as required. Inspired by DIY Camera Guy at youtube.com/user/DIYCameraGuy
