1/4" Driver Bit Handle

1/4" Driver Bit Handle

I designed this handle based on the driver that comes with Makerbeam kits, which I really like but found lacking because it doesn't have interchangeable bits. To address this issue, I created my own version with some key improvements. To fit your preferred bit holder, take a large rubber mallet or similar non-metal hammer and place the bit holder against a solid surface. Align it with the handle and keep hitting until it's securely in position. This tight fit is intentional but should work fine as long as you're using high-quality plastic and your printer is well-calibrated. To secure the rotating cap, you'll need a small bearing (10x5x5 mm), a narrow washer (I used an M5x1x1mm stainless washer from OpenBuilds Mini V Wheels) and an M5 countersunk machine screw at least 25mm long. Use these to attach the bearing to the end of the handle, allowing the cap to easily slide onto it and stay in place.
