Based on my trusty old tripod, this setup works far better than anything people have attempted since. STL files are provided for the standard configuration shown here. Various alternate cover plate designs and an example of a 45-degree mounting bracket can be found in the accompanying 123d design file. Assembly Instructions To build, you'll need: Wood screws (#4, 3/8" to 1/2" long) - 4 pieces A compression spring between 6mm and 8mm in diameter A hex-head screw with a 1/4-20 thread, 1/4" to 1/2" long Depending on the length of your chosen 1/4-20 screw, you may need to adjust the cover thickness for proper fitment. A thickness of 3/8" works best with the standard cover plate.
