1/4-20 pistol grip
thingiverse
A versatile pistol grip for cameras or other equipment, featuring a 1/4-20 thread size. Some variations boast adjustable components on top, with the bolt positioned near the upper section. However, this particular design takes it up a notch by recessing the bolt, allowing for even more substantial mounting requirements in heavy-duty applications. In situations where extra reinforcement is necessary, a steel plate can be securely attached to this part via bolts. To keep devices firmly in place, a robust magnet is employed, ensuring they don't slip or fall off. The commercial versions available at the time were struggling to hold their own under stress, which necessitated the development of a more robust solution. To bring this design to life, 3D printing was used with settings optimized for infill density: 30% and 50%. ABS plastic proved to be an excellent choice for the project. Deck screws were employed to join the mating components together securely.
