1/35 Gunstar (The Last Starfighter)

Greetings Starfighter! This is my 1/35 scale Gunstar model. I’ve spent several months working on it, using mainly screenshots from the movie as reference. It may not be 100% accurate, as the detail varied throughout the film. They simplified it in some scenes to speed up render times. I did also have had to make some small sacrifices to the 3D printing design gods to make it buildable, but I have tried to incorporate as many screen visible details as I could see. Fully assembled she comes in at about 560mm long, 455mm wide (with DB doors closed), and around 345mm tall. She weighs about 2.2kg, and will take a total of about 230 hours to print. Though that’s based on the print speed of my printers, yours may vary a bit. The parts are designed to be printed on an FDM printer with a 200x200x200mm print volume. Resin parts are all small and will print on any resin printer. The ship has loads of empty space inside to run wires, and is designed to be lit. I have fully printed the model myself to ensure parts fit, its structurally sound, and just generally “works”.
