The F-14B Tomcat was undoubtedly one of the world's most advanced fighter aircraft at its time, boasting a powerful forward-mounted radar system, variable geometry wings, two General Electric F110 turbofan jet engines that propel it to speeds reaching up to 1,544 miles per hour, and 6 AIM-54A Phoenix missiles that combine with the radar for an effective range of over 100 miles. This potent combination makes the Tomcat a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. As a result of its advanced radar system, the F-14B was designed as a two-seater aircraft, with the pilot in command seated at the front and the Radio Intercept Officer (RIO) stationed behind them. This particular Tomcat is part of VF-154's "Black Knights" squadron, which operates from the CV-62 USS Independence aircraft carrier. Alongside the squadron markings, other insignia are prominently displayed on the airframe. The model accurately recreates the intake fans, afterburners, exhaust nozzles, and tail hook with remarkable detail. With some careful manipulation, the wings can be folded to match their real-life counterpart.
