In the front of my SCX24, I like to run these internal spring shocks in a "forced full droop" setup. Essentially the spring is mounted so that it "sucks" the front end down (2nd picture), which helps in climbs and side hilling. The problem is, when the spring is compressed fully inside the shock, you lose 2-3mm of travel, which has a massive impact on the flex. Using these spacers, there is less preload on the spring (which helps flex) AND you gain some stroke back (2mm to be exact) by effectively lengthening the shock shaft. In the pictures with the calipers, the "stock" setup with the spring mounted in the bottom results in 30mm of full length whereas with the spacer its 32mm of full length. Both setups are at 23mm full compression, so we went from 7mm of travel up to 9mm.
