This model was designed to be a part of a large 1:22 scale replica of the Saturn IB rocket and is intended for flight use. It also serves as an attractive display piece. In addition to the parts shown here, you will need a small section (6 7/8") of 29 mm cardboard body tube, such as sold by Apogee Components. Alternatively, you can replace it with a 3D printed part, but keep in mind that this model was originally meant for flight. You will require one each of the following parts, except for the LES nozzle (four) and the shoulder (two). The shoulders are used to attach the pieces to the body tube. The assembly order from top to bottom is: Q Ball Booster Shoulder Body tube Shoulder LES Base Four LES Nozzles LES Tower Command Module For more information on the full rocket, you can visit the following thread: http://www.rocketryforum.com/showthread.php?135578-Another-Saturn-IB. The videos below discuss the build process in general and provide detailed information on the Command Module and Launch Escape System designs: https://youtu.be/-mtdxP-PKkc https://youtu.be/7wmGbmrGQpQ https://youtu.be/lOx9r3Pgww4 Update: November 14, 2018 The shoulder piece used to connect the booster and base to the 29 mm body tube has been updated. The thin wall of the original plug broke when the nose fell over, so it was replaced with a solid design.
