1/2 PVC Tape Measure Yagi HT Radio Holder
thingiverse
I recently created a 3-foot yagi tape measure antenna out of half-inch schedule 40 PVC pipe to listen to some satellites pass overhead. I quickly discovered that it would be easier to mount my radio directly on the antenna for increased mobility and convenience. This is an original design I came up with using Fusion 360, which helped me learn its capabilities. I needed a project to help me master the software, so I set out to create something useful. I currently have a Baofeng UV-5R clipped to it, but it should work seamlessly with most belt clip HT radios. I even designed and built a coax clip that keeps the cable organized while in use, snapping tightly onto the pipe and staying securely in place. Enjoy!
