I crafted shelves using half-inch black pipe, NPT flanges, and one-by-twelve pine boards. To secure the shelf to the pipe, I designed a clamp. These clamps are also useful for plumbing purposes with half-inch pipes. The tolerances aren't extremely precise (~1mm). The clamp can be easily slid up and down during mounting but becomes tight once screwed in. There are two versions available. One is 5 millimeters thick, suitable for light to medium use. Eight millimeters thick clamps are ideal for heavier duty applications. I selected PETG for printing because the shelves will be exposed to direct sunlight for part of the day and subjected to heat in a room during summer months. PLA can also be used if sunlight or heat is not a concern.
