1/2 Conduit Steel Pipe Holder For Household Uses
thingiverse
This is a holder for 1/2 Conduit Steel Pipe which you can buy at the local hardware store for under three dollars for ten feet. The top fits snugly over the rod after installation, securing it firmly from bouncing up or falling off. An analysis of this rod holder should support thirty Newtons of weight without any noticeable deflection. Any more than that and I'd worry about bending moment or shearing at the screw mount. This also depends on the type of plastic used and how good your printer is. The tolerances are a mere 0.2 millimeters; most printers can handle this in ultra-fine settings. Please be aware that it won't fit together if you choose a setting over 0.2 millimeters. If you want any designs or need feedback, email me at garrett.stott@okstate.edu. I do this for fun, so small designs will be free when I have the time.
