Unlike the Type 59 tank, the armor is thinned. The project started around 1957, but was eventually terminated because the mass production of Type 59 tanks started at the end of 1958. In the 1950s, the People's Republic of China planned to significantly improve the T-34-2 tank. This type of tank is called "T-34-3" tank. But because China got the design drawing of T-54A from the Soviet Union, the military lost interest in the tank, and the plan was abandoned.
