#1/120 scale TTm 1000mm narrow gauge locomotive ### General Information It's a 1/120 scale (TTm) model of a steam driven 1000mm gauge engine on my design to fit the power unit and commemorating woodland narrow gauge railways. All printed parts are at least one time printed on my Ender 3v2 layer thickness 0.12 or 0.1mm, so I know it's possible but a little tricky because of the small size. If you made a print and build one of these - please share your results. I plan to make and release some wagons in TTm to, so your TTm locomotive will not stay alone. ###Updates 2022-09-23 added a superstructure with both doors closed on request (2 Variants, I'd prefer version with windows to cut, but both are added) 2022-09-18 added some hints for coupling the dummy version and removed the 'in progress' sticker 2022-09-13 added steps and lights for those who prefer printing 2022-09-12 floor for dummy added 2022-09-09 first part of the project added ------ ###For Motorized version The motorized version is based on the KATO Power Unit 11-109 in N-gauge, I got from my local store. Hope they will have more in near future. You need to print: - Basis_with_KATO_11-109.stl - one superstructure (I used the superstructure_one_open_door_Windows2cut.stl) ------------- ###For Dummy car version For a running dummy locomotive you need to print: - dummy base, - cover (holds wheel-sets and couplings in place) - connectors (these will fit in the gap for power unit and connects to the superstructure) - one superstructure (I used the one with Windows2cut in the name) additionally - if you want: - dummy floor with load, to fill the cap. *Be careful when gluing this, its a little tricky. I put it dry inside, and pressed it down with the superstructure, lifted them up together and put glue on the floor of the load and put it all together. After the glue is fixed, you can than remove the superstructure (if you didn't glued it by mistake) and paint the load.* you need following spare parts from a N wagon - 2 regular N-scale wheels-sets (put some wax on the tips of the axles) - 2 sets of couplings including spring, if you want. *I used the old PIKO couplings, I think there are similar ones from Fleischmann still available with the T-shaped head. I found a printable (I didn't tested it) version from [wsvenny on cults3d](https://cults3d.com/de/modell-3d/spiel/n-scale-piko-coupler-and-knuckler-piko-reduction)* ------- ###Common Feel free to add steps and head lights and some other stuff to your model, I made this from brass and prefere this. For your convenience I created steps and lights also printable and added them here after test-printing. The longs steps can be put under the side doors. *I prefer the brass made lights prior the PLA printed ones but the printed ladders seems to be much easier to handle than the brass versions.* -------- ###Additional sources I posted some videos including how to solder the lights(!) on [TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/@tomeks_ttm) and pictures on [Instgram](https://www.instagram.com/tomeks_ttm/) ###Details on Tiktok * [video motorized locomotive](https://www.tiktok.com/@tomeks_ttm/video/7144435182672547077) * [video dummy locomotive (as fare as I haven't a 2nd power unit)](https://www.tiktok.com/@tomeks_ttm/video/7144453608254475525) * [video solder lights](https://www.tiktok.com/@tomeks_ttm/video/7138833685788380421) * [video solder ladder](https://www.tiktok.com/@tomeks_ttm/video/7141445199569489157) * [video how-to clip the dummy](https://www.tiktok.com/@tomeks_ttm/video/7139940373647904005) * [video discussing extra weights to dummy](https://www.tiktok.com/@tomeks_ttm/video/7139994277731486981) *Short answer: no additional weight, even when I left the space for it.* ------- ###Origin and licensing * the engines commemorating woodland narrow gauge railways but the final design is based on my ideas. * You are free to print and rescale this design for your projects and close friends and change the cut-out according to your needs. I don't add scale hints, because wheel-sets and couplings will not fit. * I don't want any commercial use of this design and prints. * If you are member of model club or school and want to use it for educational purposes, please tell me.
