1:1000 scale model of Leaning Tower of Pisa
thingiverse
Upright, this model is exactly 58.4mm high. I deliberately scaled it to that height because the tower was intended to be 100 'tuscan arms' (each _braccia pisane_ was 58.4cm long in real-person proportions). Here's an article explaining it: http://www.trifoglioitalia.com/blog/did-you-know-the-leaning-tower-of-pisa-is-exactly-100-tuscan-arms-tall Print without support in your resin printer. Included are a few shims: one at 3°,4°,5.5° (which is about as bad as it got before the engineers moved it to today's 3.99°). Please note that when the tower was completed, there was already a 1.6° lean, but I didn't make a shim for that. :) I don't mind if you take my designs and sell them on Etsy (or wherever)... just be sure to tell'em, Julius3E8 sent you. If you found this useful in any way whatsoever, it would bring me great joy to see your work - so be sure to share if you can. :) Or, better yet, please feel free to dump a bitcoin or two here: 1Py3TUeR8noBN2giHyFV1GfB6x3Kh2WEVv ... include a note to the effect of "Hi 3E8, thanks for the Tower of Pisa thing... my life has improved five-fold on account of it and please accept this paltry amount in gratitude". You're welcome! (in advance) :D Also, feel free to peruse my other submissions which are almost as varied as they are many: http://www.thingiverse.com/Julius3E8/designs Enjoy!
