1-100 WW1 Aircraft - Set 3 - Rev 0 German Heavy Bombers 1/100 scale WW1 aircraft for wargaming set #3 - Rev 0: These are the big guys - heavy bombers. All were employed in night bombing missions due to Allied daytime fighter cover. The tail surfaces of the Friedrichshafens and Gothas were modified tp a "kasten", or box-like configuration to improve lateral stability and controlability. These variants are included in this set. AEG G-IV : German short-range bomber. Frequently made several sorties in one night. On at least one occasion, one crew made 7 sorties in one night. Friedrichshafen Fdh G-III : German WW1 medium-range bomber. This is the early model. Friedrichshafen Fdh G-IIIa : Modified G-III - new rudder and elevators, slightly modified wings, belly "tunnel" for rear machine gunner to use against fighters approaching from below astern. Gotha G-V : German long-range bomber. Dropped bombs on London. Included a belly "tunnel" for the rear machine gunner, to protect against Allied fighters arracking from below and behind. Gotha G-Va : Tail sufaces changed to a "kasten". or box-like configuration. These are all are entirely new models made from scratch. (some of my other 3D models have been adapted from work done previously for 1/72 and 1/48 scale paper models) These models are meant to be compatible with those in the same same scale created by Captain_Ahab_62. Most are printed on a FDM printer in nose down position at approximately 45 degrees. I use Cura 4.8 to slice with tree supports.
