1-10 RC RTR-X Throttle Bodies Bonnet Insert Design by SlantedRC
thingiverse
A more authentic rendition of throttle bodies based on parts installed in the 1969 Ford Mustang RTR driven by Vaughn Gittin Jr. and in the HPI scale version shell. I advise trimming a hole in the bonnet area and attaching the part to the inside of the bonnet with lexan-compatible epoxy, or using 1-2mm thick double-sided tape. I prefer using tape instead of glue to prevent damaging the paint, and the small gap between the throttle bodies and the body might just add that extra touch of realism. It's up to you, but personally, I recommend printing the flutes and base separately, removing supports, and painting parts individually before installation. The holes in the flutes can be used to fasten each part with screws or for installing LED lights. The product has been printed and tested, with flaws in the drawing repaired. V1.2 (current) is yet to be printed, tested, and reviewed. A solid STL will be uploaded soon. This design was published to be used and printed free of charge, not to be distributed or sold for profit. (My contribution to RC Hobbyists to keep it as affordable as possible). Printing, installation, and usage are done at your own risk. Please post a photo of your installation on our Facebook and Thingiverse wall if you opted to use the design.
