1/10 EP Touring Car
thingiverse
Guys, This is a 1/10 scale electric 4wd touring car that's pretty cool. Most of the parts are 3D printed, but some aren't. Those non-printed parts come from a cheap Tamiya TT-01 and can be bought on eBay for just a few bucks. The suspension geometry is similar to what you'd find in a T.O.P Scythe or an HB Cyclone. The goal of this design was to make a better adjustable chassis than the TT-01, but with a robust and cheap drive train. It's got super-adjustable suspension that lets you tweak all sorts of things: * Front and rear toe in-out (with one screw release/wheel) * Front and rear camber * Front and rear shock absorber position * Front and rear roll center * Front caster with different C hubs * Ackermann If you want to build this RC car, here's what you'll need: Tamiya TT-01 ball bearing set Tamiya TT-01 differential gears (2x) Tamiya TT-01 drive shaft Tamiya TT-01 spur gears (58/55T) HPI Sprint 2 swing shaft (2 pairs) Tamiya TRF shock absorbers (or something similar) Universal connecting rods (3 pairs) A handful of M3 screws, and ball studs :) (I'll count those) Yokomo (#ZS-016P) Body Mount Post (F/R 2each) Known issues: * I printed a prototype from PLA and ran some battery packs until they were done. The results are pretty clear: + A little bit flexible chassis + Weak differential outs (a 13,5 motor can break easily on corner exit) + Sensitive suspension parts that are easy to break Recommended: use a heat isolator between the motor and the motor mount. I've lost my enthusiasm for this project, but if you want to help test or develop it, I'd be happy to share the 3D files with you. Let's create an awesome 3D printed touring car! Print settings: * Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 * Rafts: Doesn't Matter * Supports: Doesn't Matter * Resolution: 0.2 * Infill: 100%
