1 1/2" Plumbing Split Slip Joint Nut

I had a slip joint nut under my sink crack, causing massive leaks everywhere.\r\n\r\nThis particular nut is special because it has a collar that runs inside a track on the rest of the pipe assembly, installed at the factory from day one. So finding a replacement part that can do the same without having to buy an entire set of parts is extremely difficult.\r\n\r\nI came up with this innovative solution - which is split in two and can be screwed together so the collar runs inside the track, and the threads connect perfectly to the underside of the sink, or any other standard 1 1/2" ABS plumbing pipe threads (black).\r\n\r\nThis design uses M3 bolts and nuts to fasten the two pieces together securely.\r\n\r\nIt might benefit from a rubberized gasket between the seams to prevent leaks, but for now it seems to work just fine. I'm glad this solution helped me save a big plumbing bill like it did.
