1-1/2" (38mm) Tube Notcher Contour Gauge V3
thingiverse
This is a DIY version similar in function to the Pipe Master Contour Gauge. I tried a few other designs but they did not work/fit correctly, so I made my own. I recommend printing about 45 minutes of the part then stopping the print to check clearances of the tube and your cut pins. Yes it will waste a bit of material but it helps get the settings just where you need them. The pins should have some resistance and not just fall in or out. I am using 3/32 tig rod, cheap and easy. I have to clean out some of the holes with a 3/32 drill bit. This has to have a decent fit, too sloppy or too tight and the tool is useless. I used cheap Solutech PLA and its worked fine as there is not much to go wrong once you get the fit dialed in. .4 nozzle, 0.16 layer height. Edit: I redid the file to pull the pins in closer to the tube and removed material to cut print times. It does take practice to use. Even the commercial version "Pipematster P-T150 " has reviews that say this on amazon. The good news is this one is not $60. Just a few cents in material and the cost of the tig rod.
