09 - Swing

For day nine of Inktober 2019, I find myself drawn to a subject that's both nostalgic and thrilling at the same time – the humble swing set. There's something about the creaking wooden boards, the rusty chains, and the worn-out seats that speaks to me on a deep level. Maybe it's because swings remind us of carefree childhood days spent soaring through the air with abandon, our laughter echoing across the neighborhood as we chased each other in a whirlwind of joy. Whatever the reason, I'm excited to see where this illustration takes me – will it be a depiction of happy memories or perhaps something more melancholic? Only time and ink will tell.
