08 Diesel shunter for the Hornby 0-4-0 (designed for custom 0-6-0 chassis)

<p>This model was designed to go along with a custom 0-6-0 chassis that works with 0-4-0 shells. so this motor is compatible with non-cylinder Hornby 0-4-0 chassis. the shell was made to resemble an old Tri-ang 08 diesel shunter I got at a train swap that sadly no longer works. so when I finished the custom chassis I made a shell to go with it.</p> <p>That can be found here: <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5389191">https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5389191</a></p> <p>the decorative coupling was based on the coupling that's fitted to the Hornby Ruston&amp;Hornsby shunter. this one is different from the past ones I've designed and turned out well. will likely use it in future models.</p> <h3>Post-Printing</h3> <p><strong>assembly</strong></p> <div><p>Print the running board on the flat top surface, the Top shell on its bottom surface with the large hole for the motor, buffers on the latest end (not the front surface to the buffer), and the couplings on its side.</p> no support on the Coupling and not required on the Running Board. but put support around the Buffers along with inside and around the top shell. <p>once printed, cut some paper clips to act as guides and support for the model.</p> <p>you can put the top on with 4 paper clip pins, make sure they go through the buffers, and have some sticking out on the end. use these to shove into the holes in the running board, the holes in the top of the part, and not the buffer beams. then dab glue in some of the corners of the top shell and carefully rest it on top of the running board. if you haven't glued the paperclip pins in, you can re-use them if they're long enough.</p> <p>take the paperclip and shove them back into the buffers, then you can glue the buffers to the buffer beams.</p> <p>the Coupling can easily be inserted into the buffer beam on both ends.</p> <p>now paint and it's ready to be fitted onto the chassis!</p> <p>(added wights recommended)</p> </div> Category: Hobby
