Here are some planetary system designs with customization options. These custom planetary systems were created using a designer. Check out the original at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:53451 or visit Customizer! at http://www.thingiverse.com/apps/customizer/run?thing_id=53451. Planetary Systems Made Easy! To assemble your system: 1. Determine how many planets you'd like. Default number of planets is 5, but go up to ten. The default twist on each planet's axis can be adjusted between -10 and 10 units. By default this is set at one unit. The tolerance in degrees when measuring the sun to the outer most planet in the system can range from .000001 to .9. We recommend setting it to 0.7 for best results. Widths of your planets can range from .5 inches up to 12. Go with a default width of 6.7. The tilt angle on each planet's axis, relative to its orbital plane can be any degree between -179 and 179 degrees. We recommend setting it at 45 by default. To keep your sun happy the rotation period must not be too high or you'll encounter system failure! Rotate slowly with a default rotation time of 18 days and don't forget to keep track of how many degrees you rotate per hour so you're aware how quickly you're spinning. The default tilt angle on each planet's axis can vary anywhere from -179 degrees to 179 degrees. Don't overdo it; by default, set this to a pleasant 60. Sun Teeth: We suggest keeping the sun looking as attractive as possible, don't get carried away with too many teeth. We find the sweet spot to be at nine. The Number of Teeth on Your Planets: Go wild and have up to 25 planets in your system; however, most systems only include seven teeth.
