The human body is an intricate machine that relies heavily on its nervous system to function properly. The brain, which serves as the command center of the body, sends and receives signals through a network of neurons, or nerve cells, that cover every inch of the body. These signals are transmitted at speeds of up to 200 miles per hour, allowing for quick responses to stimuli such as pain, touch, and movement. The nervous system can be divided into two main parts: the central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The CNS includes the brain and spinal cord, while the PNS consists of nerves that branch out from the CNS to various parts of the body.
