03.Hornby O Gauge Rolling Stock Buffers
thingiverse
I recently stumbled upon an old 1950s Hornby tin plate engine in a charity shop, and the price was too good to pass up. This find brought back memories of inheriting my siblings' hand-me-down engines years ago and my ongoing quest to keep them running smoothly by oiling the motion, quartering the wheels, and repairing broken springs. As a kid, I used to fix other kids' trains, which often involved freeing seized components with oil. Occasionally, however, I was asked to disassemble tank engines to access their cabs or loosen smokebox door tags to inspect the boiler inside. So it came as no surprise that this engine was missing its rear access panel and maybe even a little karma. Now, what should I do next? Should I wait for an affordable body to appear on eBay and cannibalize it for parts, or design my own using 3D printing technology? As part of my ongoing restoration project, I've been making progress by replacing wagon wheels and entire tenders. To achieve this, I've created a series of prints that will be gradually added to over time.
