Albrecht Dürer's Solid was crafted specifically for the Sinterit Design Competition. The 8-faced solid is also known as a truncated triangular trapezohedron. To learn more about its history and mathematical properties, visit this link. For my Math Art collection, I aimed to design multiple geometric forms along with their wireframe frameworks. By exposing the underlying framework of each shape, it becomes clear just how intricate these models can be, pushing the limits of laser sintering 3D printing technology due to its high accuracy requirements and lack of need for support material. Using Rhino software with the RhinoPolyhedra plugin, I created the initial designs, which were then refined using Meshmixer to generate the precise edge structures.
