Pokemon 006 Charizard Dual Low-Poly This model is extremely challenging to print without supports, requiring a good brim and precise cooling with a slow printing pace before the wings merge into the body. Printed in one piece with no supports, a generous amount of brim was necessary. I included a single extruder version for users who prefer that configuration. I am accustomed to printing large models, so the real-life picture was printed diagonally at 21x21cm for maximum wing span and approximately 20cm tall. A 5-shell design with 20% infill was used. The printing process took more than 40 hours, with four failed attempts before the wings merged due to curling and layer shift or knocking the wing section loose. To address this issue, I designed a new fan shroud that distributes cooling air evenly, resulting in a more consistent print. However, curling remained a significant problem. Supports are highly recommended for the bottom of the wings to ensure a successful print. To achieve a unique effect, users can add a third color to the wing webbing by pausing the slicer at specific layers or manually adjusting the settings (although manual adjustments are not recommended). The single extruder version should print similarly but without additional walls between colors. I did not print this version, and it was also printed at less than 100% scale. This model requires ample cooling and a slower printing pace for optimal results.
