The ceramic ritual vessel of the Kuro-Araka culture is covered on all four sides with relief designs in the shape of solar symbols, which signify the division of the year into four seasons. The presence of stains on the walls of the vessel is linked to a weak temperature in firing kilns and uneven firing of the surface. Ceramic art from the Kuro-Araka culture is unique and has its own distinctive appearance. Vessels were hand-shaped without using a potter's wheel. The outer surface was carefully worked and covered with liquid clay, smoothing out the walls of the vessels. Finished ceramic products were coated with relief ornaments in the form of spirals, concentric circles, and ridges. In some cases, schematic drawings of birds and animals were applied to the walls. The majority of the vessels are painted gray and brown, while red and black colors are less common.
