Larger extrusion test cube for 0.8mm nozzle. The cube is 30x30x30 mm as I found the smaller cubes to be too inconsistent for a 0.8mm nozzle test. The extrusion cube is printed with a wall of 2x the nozzle diameter which allows for calculation with the following formula: New E-steps / Current E-steps = (Extrusion width * 2) / (Average measured wall thickness) • New E-steps = The value to be found • Current E-steps = The e-steps setting as currently set in the printer • Extrusion width * 2 = The nozzle diameter multiplied by the number of walls that are printed • Average measured wall thickness = the average thickness of the 4 printed walls The “New E-steps” value will be the e-steps value to be used on the printer. Alternatively, the following formula can be used to calculate an adjusted flowrate instead of the E-steps. This allows for tuning in the slicer software instead of on the printer itself. Flow % = (Extrusion width * 2) / (Average measured wall thickness) *100 • Flow % = the new flow to be set in the slicer software
