Two Cube Puzzles
thingiverse
Here are two cube construction puzzles based on the dissection of a 27-unit cube into either three or five parts. Some people find the three-part puzzle easy, while others struggle to solve it. The five-part puzzle has multiple solutions and is only slightly more challenging. Individual pieces are provided for those who want to print different-colored sections. The openSCAD code can be easily modified to create additional puzzles. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator (5th Generation) Rafts: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.3 mm Making Other Puzzles The program that creates these puzzles is straightforward and simple. The 27 sub-cubes are referenced by the integers 1 through 26. Lists of the sub-cubes that make up each piece are created, sent to a module, and then the pieces are generated. A color-coded display module helps prevent errors from occurring. More details about this process can be found in the code itself.
